Striper Report May 15, 2010

by doug

The last few days the striper fishing has been excellent. Yesterday on a half day charter we boated 11 stripers up to 18 pounds. That 18 pounder had another striper follow it all the way up to the boat that was probably in the mid 30’s. That following action is a good sign which usually means the fish are starting to stack up in large schools. All our fish hit flatlined herring and down rods at about 20 ft. deep.

Today We boated 9 stripers with the largest weighing 32 pounds. The 32 came on a flatline. Check out the photos. I believe the next few weeks the stripers will really turn it on, the water temp. today was 75 and with the warmer weather forcasted should get into the 80’s by next week. This will continue to get em stacked up in bigger schools as they come down the river on their migration back to the lower lake. Don’t miss out on this action. I will be out next week and will report back then.
