Striper report December 2, 2011
by doug
Went out on a full day charter yesterday with Bobby Ammons . We ended up with 7 stripers in the 8-15 pound range. All our fish hit medium trout on downrods at around 40-50 foot depths. We saw quite a few fish on the sonar that day just to only catch the 7 stripers we boated. This time on year you have to be patient if your on a school of fish. They are usually not as aggressive as when you find them in large schools during summer months and you may need to sit on em a while until they turn on. There is usually a majic hour when they feed like crazy during colder winter months and you have to wait em out. Most of the peak activity yesterday was after 11:00 am. We hit a good school around 4:30 and were able to catch 2 of our best fish before we called it quits. I will be out next week and will report back soon.
