Lake Lanier Fishing Report November 9, 2012
by doug
Went out with customer Benji Woods from Buford. Benji brought his 2 young children Ashton 10 and Kendall 8 ,so we decided to do something fun and easy for the kids. With 8 and 10 year old children you have to keep em busy catching to keep em from playing in the bait tank. We went for bass with live blueback herring which will produces good numbers of nice spots during October and November. We boated around 15 spots on a half day charter with one of the spots weighing around 4/12 pounds. All our fish hit the herring on downlines at 20 foot depths Later that day we hit a couple of areas for the crappie on the way in a boated around 15 or so. The kids left happy and it was a beautiful fall day. Stripers are starting to get active late in the afternoon. Large trout and gizzard shad fished on planner boards are producing best right now. As water temps dip down into the mid 50’s striper fishing will get more consistent.
