Striper Report October 26, 2010

Striper fishing remains excellent. Tuesday I fished a half day charter with customer Mike Kenzie in pooring rain at the leading edge of this front. Although the weather was a little damp the stripers were really turned on by the approaching front. This time of year if you can plan your fishing ahead of the [...]

Striper fishing this week continues to be good. We had a fantastic day last Saturday boating  over 30 stripers although most of the fish we boated were in the 2-7 pounds range. We even boated a walleye around 4 pounds. All of our fish hit live bluebacks in the 20-35 ft. range. Creeks on the North end [...]

Striper action on the south end of  Lanier has slowed just a bit as the lake is in the fall turnover. I had several boats go out yesterday and got several different reports. One of my guides boated 5 good stripers up to around 12 pounds  fishing live bluebacks on  main lake points down around [...]

Striper fishing was good yesterday. We boated around 12 stripers up to about 14 pounds. We had one mule on that stripped us off. We couldnt even turn that fish. The pattern is still the same, downlining live bluebacks on main lake points in 35-50 ft. of water. The south end of the lake is [...]

Fishing today turned out to be quite good as we boated around 15 stripers  with the largest weighing  15 pounds. This past Saturday we had a tough day locating fish as the water temps fell down into the upper 70′s with the recent cold front. This is the time the fishing usually gets  tough during the [...]

Striper fishing is still fantastic. We have had some of the best catches of the summer this week. I had charters Monday- Wednesday and boated over 20 fish on each outing. The fish are being caught several ways but the bluebacks on down rods are still producing the best. Most of the fish are still [...]

Striper action is still on. Just got in off the lake after a half day charter. We had one of the best days of the summer landing over 30 stripers with 5-6 weighing right at 17-18 pounds. The stripers are still on a good downrod bite at 50-80 ft. This actions should continue on into [...]

Striper action is still on big time. Just got in off the lake after fishing a half day charter with first time customer James Youngblood. We boated over 25 stripers up to around 15 pounds. That was quite a change after the striper tournament we fished last weekend. Although we managed to win the tournament , we struggled to [...]

Striper fishing continues to be excellent. Today we boated 13 stripers on a half day charter with the largest two fish weighing just over 22 pounds.  All our fish are hitting downrods  with live bluebacks. The fish seemed to be getting a little deeper today. The big fish we caught were 75 ft. down over [...]

Fishing continues to be excellent for the stripers these past few weeks. We are seeing some heavy fish with two  of my clients catching several over 25 pounds this week. We are still catching most of our fish on bluebacks at 50-75 ft. depths although you may not be finding fish in the normal summer locations which are out [...]
