Striper Report August 13, 2010

by doug

Fishing continues to be excellent for the stripers these past few weeks. We are seeing some heavy fish with two  of my clients catching several over 25 pounds this week. We are still catching most of our fish on bluebacks at 50-75 ft. depths although you may not be finding fish in the normal summer locations which are out over the main channel. I have been finding most of the stripers still holding in the creeks and bays off  the main lake. 50 – 80 bottoms are where most of the active fish are holding.  Lead core line is working for the trolling action with white 1-1/2 oz. bucktails trolling at 7-8 colors. There has been a good morning and evening bite so we have been running 2 charters a day while the action is hot. Water generation has been starting most days at 2:55 p.m. until around 6:00 to 8: p.m. which really get the stripers feeding in the afternoons also. Get out while the action hot. Will report back soon.
