Striper Report June 30, 2010
by doug
Just got back on the lake this week after a break at the beach with the family. Fishing today was very good. We boated around 20 stripes up to about 14 pounds. All our fish were caught downroding live herring over a 50 ft. bottom. Later in the day we located stripers suspended over 100 ft. bottom fishing our baits down anywhere from 30 – 50 ft. deep. I believe we could have caught them on lead core also. They were suspended in the strike zone from 30-40 ft. which is perfect to catch them trolling bucktails on the lead core line. Water temp. today was 87 degrees when we quit fishing around 1:30 p.m. That is quite warm for this time of year but that warm water temp. will get the fish schooled up in the deep areas of the lake. Will be out the rest of the week and will report back soon.
