Striped Bass Report, May 22, 2010

by doug

Stripers are on fire. We boated 28 fish today all on downrrods at 25-30 ft. depths. Our largest fish today was around 14 pounds. Buddy Don Brown boated two big fish over 20 pounds dragging gizzard shad. Again we saw some huge schools of fish located in the creeks on the North end of Lanier. Seemed like the fish today were holding on a 25 -40 foot bottom. I have heard some good reports on the topwater action on the cloudy day’s. My buddy had good luck this past Thursday waking smokey joe cordel redfins on main lake points. Topwater has’nt really been happening on the bright sunny day’s. Look for the best top action to occur with overcast skies.
