Striper Report April 27, 2010
by doug
Fishing still good for stripers. Today we boated 9 stripers up to around 10 pounds flatlining herring. We hooked up 3 of our 9 on zoom ice flukes on 1/4 ounce lead heads. Spots are also hitting the flukes quite well. We caught around 10 spots up to 3 pounds casting the flukes up on shallow wind blown flats. From what Ive seen with the stripers I believe they can be taken on u-rigs also. I am seeing the fish on sonar hugging the bottom on main lake points in 10-15 feet of water and that is the perfect depths to take them with a light weight urig trolled close to the bottom especially on the windy day’s.Some topwater action is going on also using The big redfins and zara-spooks. Will be out tomorrow and will report back then.
