Striper Report April 21, 2010

by doug

Striper fishing is getting better every day. Today I had a half day charter with Will Spurlock, we boated 7 stripers with the biggest one weighing about 16 pounds. All our fish hit bluebacks on flatlines around main lake points on the North end of Lanier. We are now starting to graph schools of stripers as they come back down the river from the spring spawning run they will continue to pack up in larger schools. We caught quite a few nice spotted bass also which is a sign they are all coming off the bed. Topwater action is just around the corner. We have been catching a few big spots on zara spooks. Seemed like the key to catching stripers today was to keep the boat in 10-15 ft. of water as we drug our baits around and over the points. Will be out the rest of the week and will report back soon.
